what's some classic turkish recipes that are easy to make?

>> No.15669376

Cockroaches are generally omnivorous; the American cockroach (Periplaneta americana), for example, feeds on a great variety of foodstuffs including bread, fruit, leather, starch in book bindings, paper, glue, skin flakes, hair, dead insects and soiled clothing.[50] Many species of cockroach harbor in their gut symbiotic protozoans and bacteria which are able to digest cellulose. In many species, these symbionts may be essential if the insect is to utilize cellulose; however, some species secrete cellulase in their saliva, and the wood-eating cockroach, Panesthia cribrata, is able to survive indefinitely on a diet of crystallized cellulose while being free of microorganisms.[51]

For me, it's cig kofte!
>raw minced meat
>bulgur
>garlic
>pepper paste
>tomato paste
>parsley
>onions
>red pepper
>salt & pepper
>lemon juice
>serve with lettuce leaves
The tastiest fingerfood in existence.
Reminds me of nigiri in how you eat it and how small it is, but IMO 10x better.

Another great one I can recommend, karniyarik!
>fry large aubergines sliced in half/ small aubergines whole after peeling into stripes
>Open up a whole to stuff minced meat into
>fry some minced meat with tomato paste, garlic, finely sliced tomatoes and onions on a pan
>pour the meat mix into the fried aubergines, the aubergines should be on a baking utensil
>dissolve some tomato paste with hot water and pour over aubergines before baking them
>bake
>serve with rice
A great comfort food. Don't roast for too long, the meat can get dry. The rice complements the oily texture of the aubergine perfectly.
This one is really easy to make with western ingredients.

Turkish Beans With Onions

1CupWhite beans (Kuru Fasulye)
3White onions, sliced into half moons
1TeaspoonSea salt
1Tablespoon(Heaped) Tomato salça
1Tablespoon(Heaped) Pepper salça
0.25TeaspoonPaprika0.25TeaspoonBlack pepper
0.25TeaspoonPul biber / Aleppo pepper flakes
1TablespoonPekmez (grape molasses)

Soak the beans in water overnight.

The following day drain and place in a saucepan with enough water to cover and cook on a low boil for around 30-45 minutes, removing any foam that may come to the top when cooking.

The beans are ready when softened.

Whilst the beans are cooking, heat a little olive oil in afrying pan and add the onions.

Stir the onions until they are coated in the oil and add in the salt and a couple of tablespoons of water.

Cover the saucepan and turn to low heat, the onions are ready when caramelised to a deep brown colour, this can take around 30 minutes or more, during this time if they start to stick add a tablespoon or two of more water.

When both the beans and onions are ready, add thesalças to the frying pan along with a little water from the beans and fry until they have loosened up.

Add the onion / salça mixture along with the spices and pekmez to the beans saucepan and simmer for around 30 minutes or until the beans are softened to your liking.

Serve as is or with rice/bulgur pilaf and pickles.

I'll never understand the mountain turk meme. Turks and Kurds are completely different peoples. Kurds speak an Indo-European language of the Iranic group, while Turks speak an Altaic language from around Mongolia. Turks often have somehwat Asian facial traits, while Kurds don't.

How could anyone ever believe that "mountain turks" would be credible propaganda? I honestly don't get it. Again, they speak 100% different languages, look quite different, dress differently etc. Makes zero sense.
