Haven't used this heavy bitch in a long time. Guess what I'm making /ck/?
What are your favorite things to make in a crockpot?

>> No.15638473

i just started using one, feels like i'm hacking cooking. before that i would just throw meat in a pan & call it a day. now it's like eating at home, crockpots are based & comfy.

anyway i'm still a cooklet so i've just been making chicken/roast with vegetables & heavy seasoning. can't go wrong & have food for at least 2 days

I've made this recipe a few times in mine https://www.slenderkitchen.com/recipe/slow-cooker-greek-chickpeas
I substitute the vegan shit for ground beef. Pork would work too

Had a sad chicken breast and some beef broth in the fridge so made some pulled chicken with beans and sausage and mushrooms to pad it out a bit. Bunch of adobo seasoning, some garlic, paprika bam. Looks plain as fuck, tastes fantastic.

I used to have a good recipe for swiss steak from my mom I'd make in a crockpot. It was specially good during the winter, reminded me of home

I like to use it for Teryaki chicken. Last week I used it for some preseaseoned Al Pastor meat that turned out spectacular. (had to add onions and extra seasoning, though) i also like oiling and salting some potatoes wrapped in tin foil and throwing them in their. I do that for parties with chili, or to make a shit ton of nacho cheese.

You can take the pre-made biscuits you pop out of the tube and use them for dumplings. I quarter them and roll them into balls. Have just thrown them on top whole too.

I hadn't thought of potatoes in a slow cooker. Will have to try, thanks for the idea, anon

Just don't throw them in at the very beginning with everything else, because they'll be mush by the time 4-8 hours are up.

Pressure cookers are superior in every way. They made crockpots obsolete.

Borscht, it's cheap and lasts me 1-2 weeks, think my pot is about 8qt but I can't remember, best thing is the flavours meld and get better with a couple days in the fridge. Total cost is $30-40 depending on what I put in but it's brainless to make and great with dark bread. Irish stew is also a good choice as then you can use cheap, tough cuts of meat and they turn out fantastic, just don't forget to sear the meat first for best flavour.

made some baby back ribs today, seasoned and slow cooked for about 4 hours on high, then finished in the oven on broil with some bbq sauce. so much better than my mother's shitty dry ribs

I'm a big pulled pork fan, it comes out great cooked in a crock pot. I made a good goat curry a few weeks ago, I'm going to make it again soon.

Pic related: it's goat
