So have they completely cornered the 'chup market? Are any brands as good?

I've tried numerous own brands and they were just as good as Heinz but like a quarter of the price.

I eat ketchup with everything except from rice and pasta.

Most of the world's condiments are now produced in China, particularly the tomato based ones, so no. They have not cornered the market whatsoever.

In Norway, the national ketchup brand Idun still has a 75% market share. I tried Heinz in the 90s and never went back.

But its not a substitute for ketchup, they have different flavour profiles.

Its more synonymous to thai sweet chili or something like that.

Wow, you're still using Heinz in 2021?
>Are any brands as good?
You've never even tasted another ketchup have you? Heinz is 1/4 sugar, it's literally the worst ketchup out there. I'll bet €100 whatever country you're from, where ever you live, whatever stores are nearby, you can go and take any discount house brand and it will taste better than Heinz.

There are other good or even better brands, but heinz is the best of the ubiquitous brands you can find consistently. I grew up only having Hunt's at home because my parents hated Theresa Heinz for reasons(libruls bad!). It's the fucking worst bland ass tomato gel. It was always nice to have heinz when we'd go to restaurants.

I use where I would have used normal ketchup. Fries, maybe hotdogs or occasionally on a burger... That's about all I use ketchup for really. And every time the spicy ketchup is just so much ridiculously superior.

Personally, when I want something spicier I would simply ditch ketchup for that meal as a whole.
