Don't be too hard on this anon. Pears can be very hit and miss. A lot of the ones we get from the local store have almost no aroma, sweetness or flavour. Sometimes they are just really watery with no taste.

However, when they are good they are one of the best fruits you can get in a cold country. The conference pears we grow on our tree are glorious. Better than the same variety from the shop. Not only are they super sweet, but they have this honey like aroma. Only downside is that the local foxes try to take them off the tree (I kid you not).
