Bratkartoffeln. Literally just pan fried potatoes with onions, bacon, sometimes other meats/sausage and topped with eggs or cheese.

One I really like is slow roasted winter root vegetables. I just toss them in a little oil and seasoning then let them mellow in the oven for like 2 hours, covered then uncovered. They don't get crispy or soggy, just soft and the flavours really come out beautifully.

Poutine isn't all that great but for me it's one of my favorite comfort foods, especially if I'm hanging out somewhere late at night in the cold canadian winter. Lots of fond memories of just sitting there in the cold night with friends, eating take out poutine and laughing about stupid shit.

Yeah that looks comfy but making swedish meatballs from scratch takes a bit too much effort to be comfort food imo.

Butter garlic elbow macaroni or mac n cheese. Any kind of pasta with butter and garlic is just the ultimate comfort food.

Fuck turkey, but I fucking LOVE thanksgiving sides. Stuffing, gravy, cranberry sauce, mashed taters, sweet potatoes of some sort and then whatever else you can pile on. I had a nice little dinner this past thanksgiving with my best friend, his mom and his gf and I went fucking ham on the sides. Green beans, a baked sweet potato thing with onions and some other veggies, two kinds of mashed taters, honey sriracha brussel sprouts, collard greens, green beans. It was so fucking good.

I have and this is the argument that everyone always makes
>you just haven't had a properly cooked turkey
How about no, chicken or ham or anything else is a superior meat for a Thanksgiving dinner.
Some cold cuts are different those are processed foods and have enough salt and seasoning that it's barely even turkey anymore. The ones that are less processed/more natural are shit too.

There's a reason for why people cook a turkey only once a year. There's a reason for why you don't see rotisserie turkey and turkey noodle soup in grocery stores. Turkey's a garbage bird and everyone knows it, they're just too scared to say it.

how do you mean "get fucked over"? not get a crust-slice? there's plenty to go, ahem, a-ROUND, and you also don't get cheeky cunts dipping back into the pizza accumulating uneaten crusts on the plate.
The only way you get "fucked over" is if there's 5 people, and you're the only one who didn't get a corner slice.

I like turkey solely to change up the pace from ham and roast beef for my sandwiches. Good smoked turkey toasted on rye with mayo, honey mustard, and bean sprouts can be heavenly. The bean sprouts are key to the sandwich, but you're rolling the dice every time you order them. Kroger won't even carry them, you can't order them at any Kroger in the country because of a disease outbreak years back.

Turkey, avocado, bacon, mayo and provolone sandwiches are good, but again processed deli turkey has very little in common with actual turkey. Roast beef is kind of the cold cuts for me. If I want to switch it up I get chicken or make tuna salad. Ham is alright but its a bit too processed for my taste. Good deli roast beef is the only cold cut that tastes like actual meat.
