Well it depends on the flavor and quality of both the cake and the frosting, doesn't it?

If we're talking shitty cake from a grocery store, I guess I'd rather equal amounts because the cake is so dry and neither is particularly tasty.
If we're talking about a delicious chocolate, fruit, or coffee flavored Swiss or Italian meringue buttercream, I want the extra frosting.
If we're talking about cream cheese frosting on a spice cake or carrot cake, I want mostly cake. Cream cheese frosting can be overpoweringly sweet and nice carrot and spice cakes are usually already quite moist.

This is my signature dish, 'The Hurgin'. This is a picture I found on google but it's exactly the same. It's delicious bologna/devon cake layered with extra thick mayo and a mustard frosting.

Normally I keep it in the fridge and have a slice a day, but sometimes I get hungry and have it for breakfast as well.

The older it gets, the more falvour it adapts and the more chewy it becomes. The Hurgin is without doubt on of my favourite dishes.

Based. Frosting can be fantastic, but too much icing on a cake can be like having too much celery in a beef stew: the celery is great, but its place is as supporting cast.
This doesn't apply to cream cheese frosting. A dense, moist carrot cake with a thick layer of well made cream cheese frosting, especially when it's served cold, is god-tier.
