Kielbasa was on sale, so I bought a bunch. What should I make with it? I have some shrimp in the freezer too, maybe some kind of gumbo?

>>15493216
Well shit I just realized I didn't know the difference between jambalaya and gumbo. Might be making jambalaya later on. What would you fucks do with mediocre polish sausage?

>>15493216
Simmer it with sauerkraut, onions, and caraway seeds. Remove it when the kraut is tender, slice it, and fry it. Serve with buttery mashed potatoes and a good spicy mustard.

Kapusta. Cut the kielbasa into 1/2 inch slices, fry them with diced onion until the onions are translucent. Pour them into a greased baking dish, cover with drained sauerkraut and grated carrot. Mix them up, bake at 350 for an hour. A few tablespoons of dark brown sugar mixed in before baking is optional.

Kapusta just means cabbage in Sukaspeak. Don't have cabbage or kraut on me right now and not going to the grocery store on a weekend.
I just took out a pound of frozen shrimp from the freezer. I got rice, celery, onions, garlic, canned tomatoes and spices. I think I'm making some kind of jambalaya.

I use this sausage for breakfast often, I use it in breakfast tacos which is a little weird but I dice it like ham and it's good.

i also just cut it into chunks, stick it into the oven with my brussel sprouts, and the fat will get into some of the sprouts and be very delicious. I eat that with boiled red potatoes and sour cream.

I’ll buy the same brand and cut it into rings and either fry it up in a big skillet with chopped cabbage and caraway seeds etc or white beans and spinach. Like the other guy said it’s good with kraut too or even just grilled with some potatoes and mustard

I'd mid ketchup and tabasco as dipping sauce. Then get a bunch of iceberg lettuce. I'd wrap the disks in some lettuce, then dip in the sauce and walla

Slice it and fry it up in a large sautee pan. Then cook thinly sliced onion in same pan. Once onion is almost done, add finely chopped garlic and cook for 30 seconds. Add your cabbage and sautee until it's soft. Season to taste with salt, freshly ground black pepper, and smoked paprika if you have it.

>> No.15500337

Make some jambalaya. If you want it real easy, you can grab a couple boxes of zatarain's dirty rice, cook it up and chop up a kielbasa and toss it in. I like to put in a little cajun spice and cumin but the flavor is fine without them. It's not great but it's not terrible and it'll feed me for like 4 days with 2 boxes.

Lazanki
My family is originally from Warsaw, so I never even knew this dish existed until recently. Then, the first time I had it, I swear the sausage had like 0% fat. It was just meat, and it was barely processed. It was the best sausage I have ever had. I don't know where I can get this kind of sausage for myself.

brown sausage in a pot, once I used a strip of bacon for the fat and it added a lot of richness to the dish
remove sausage
brown a large onion in the pot, try to scrape up the sausage fond
slice sausage into medallions, return to pan
pour over one jar sauerkraut, as well as fresh chopped cabbage or tricolor slaw, and add water
cover and simmer 20-25 minutes, remove cover and simmer until sufficiently reduced

My mom used to make something fairly similar when I was a kid, but she made them round using a glass. So like a pel'meni wrap basically with some butter and some cabbage. I think it was called some variation of lazanki.
