dull ache in my lower right side, for like 2 months, between ribs and hip bone. seemed to get worse after I would drink. So they did bloodwork, all good, then ultrasound and that's what finds it. The doc said that usually you don't feel any pain associated with fatty liver so I'm not sure what's up with that. I read it's very common in america, between 25 and 40% have it, often goes undiagnosed.

Non-alcoholic fatty liver disease is getting a lot more common in America and the West, as a result of metabolic syndrome/obesity. If you’re a heavy drinker that’s probably the cause but if you’re obese that’s a contributing factor or possibly the cause.

Losing central adiposity will help a lot if it’s obesity. Low carb did wonders for my liver numbers.

Because having a fatty liver doesn't harm geese. They naturally store excess fat in and around the liver when they're bulking up in autumn to prepare for the caloric demands of migratory flight.

People aren't supposed to be store fat in the liver, and it makes the liver not work as well.
