In taste terms, it's roughly halfway between Asahi Extra Dry and Miller Draft (if I had to pick). Color wise it's very pale gold.
I use SafBrew DA-16 yeast for good sugar use (attenuation) and a crisp finish. Dextrose is used to boost ABV without over-sugaring the beer or killing the yeast.
Trade secret is using about 5g of ascorbic acid (vitamin C) in the brew water about an hour before the boil, it strips out the chlorine and chloramine in treated tap water that retard yeast proliferation.

If your joints hurt when you drink beer it's because you are sensitive to purine.
If you tend to shit yourself it's probably because you are sensitive to gluten.
A friend of mine with coeliac disease will get me to brew millet beer for him a few times a year as it has no gluten. It's also relatively low in purines. You may want to learn home brewing so you can make your own beer without artificial shit, preservatives, purines and gluten.

> 99% conviction rate to 'save face'.
just like the US? lol. in the States you take a plea deal and in Japan they make you confess.

their near 100% conviction rate is also based on police not going forward with charges unless basically positive they will achieve conviction (which yes is also assisted by their legal system)

In Japan the law makes a distinction between "Imprisonment" (禁錮) and "Imprisonment with hard labor" (懲役). If you get sentenced to the former you don't have to work while in prison. If you get sentenced to the latter you will be doing forced labor during your stay. It's usually related to manufacturing. I think it might be almost the same in the States

I love that crisp taste from Japanese beer that comes from rice bing in the malt. Probably like Asahi super dry best even though I think there are others that actually taste better. Asahi just has this Tokyo night walk feel to it

Yes. That flavor profile you described is what I like about Japanese beer. Was going to visit Japan and go on drinking trips but that plan obviously got fucked

baste.

When I started drinking beer, I almost exclusively drank IPAs and the sort. As I've gotten a little older, my palate has been refined a bit and I also can't smash 8 IPAs without feeling like shit,, so I've really gravitated towards a lot of old-world styles and breweries.

I also homebrew a lot, and it's a lot harder to produce even something as simple as a pilsner and have it be really good or close to something you can find commercially, so my appreciation for simple styles done really well has grown. There's nothing you can hide behind in styles like that. With IPAs, you can literally just dump a fuck load of hops into any shit beer and cover up a lot of underlying flaws.
