Help me settle a debate /ck/:

When eating toast, do you put butter AND jam on it?

I always just do one or the other, and I've never heard of anyone eating both, but my friend says that you're supposed to do both and I think he's a fucking freak for doing so.

I hardly ever have jam on my toast but if I do I like having butter with it. The butter softens up the toast and the saltiness offsets the sweetness of the jam. Just jam is fine too though.

If you want jam on toast, both is superior, but usually I am too lazy to bother doing both because I am in a hurry. When I have the extra time (30 seconds to head up cold butter) and I want the best jam sandwich, it has to have butter. If i don't want jam then butter by itself is better of course.

Nah I'm not fucking with you it's great, I'd rather not eat jam or marmelade on bread at all if I don't have cheese to put on it.

I usually use a pretty mild cheese that hasn't been stored well at all I think on sandwiches like that but I don't see why more flavorful cheese wouldn't be just as good.

Please just don't be weird and do like pic related I mean sure it tastes good as well but it kind of nullifies one of the reasons other than taste to use the cheese in the first place, it goes butter jam/marmelade and then cheese

Do you put the butter on first and then the jam, or do you put the jam on first and then the butter, or do you mix the butter and jam together first and then apply it to the toast?

You know i wonder what would happen if you put the jam and butter into a blender, mix them together and then put the toast in the blender to integrate it within. Then you bake it in the oven until it's back to a solid form.

>> No.15248719

>>15244084
One or the other, not both. Butter overpowers basically any jam, putting them together just negates the jam and you end up with too much liquid and the toast gets cold and soggy instantly. If you want both, make one piece with butter and another with jam, or if you eat like a bird then cut one slice in half and do one on each half.
