I usually end up butchering it all the way down so I can use the cuts in various methods.

Score the skin, then place skin side down in a very hot pan. Leave until skin becomes golden brown, then flip the breasts, and put them (in the same pan) in a 400°F (204°C) oven for about seven minutes for medium rare. Mid-rare breasts go well with blueberry demiglace, or a different sauce with a sweet/savory flavour.
>thighs and legs
Confit, usually.
>wings and drumettes
I usually freeze them until I have enough to make a decent sized batch of deep fried or oven baked duck wings. Good stuff, especially when you can get them crispy as hell.
>remains of carcass
Use for soups or stocks.
My advice to you; if you don't need to cook your duck well done, please don't.

Males have a curl on the tip of their tail and make a raspy sound like a frog croaking. Females are loud as shit and don't have a curl.

I've never seen the Good Eats recipe, but I'm sure it's great.
I've made Peking duck a few times in the last couple years because good duck is hard to find. It certainly doesn't take a huge amount of effort, but it definitely takes a few days. Kind of a fun food project, honestly.
I hated making enough of the Chinese pancakes for seven people, though, fuck.
