I'm going to catalogue food I ate over several years in Japan. I'll try to put in what I recall about the circumstances. Questions are welcome.
The first is a grocery basket from Shizutetsu store with Caspian Sea yogurt, a small cup of Ben and Jerry's, and a discounted pack of beef with a packet of wasabi.

A glass of ochawari, sometimes even called Shizuokawari. It's green tea and shochu. This was during Shizuoka Omachi Baru, a kind of restaurant crawl event.

This one was cool. It's an okonomiyaki style dish that won a cooking contest students at my school joined. There are elements of a Shizuoka ingredients in it, like a Wasabi sauce and Sakura Eni included. They sold it at the local Shizutetsu grocery store chain.

He was interested in religion and asked me about Christianity and Judaism. Challah bread is a great bread made and eaten by Jewish people on the sabbath, it's a religious food I'm sure he had never had before.
Plus it makes an absurd French toast. I don't know if it's common all over America, but in the northeast where I grew up diners often served challah French toast.

I'm looking for a bento box, it cant be pinku (that's Japanese for pink) or any girl color. It has to be of 2 or more kotoba (that's Japanese for 2 compartments) and has be be chibi (small) sized. And has to be really kawaii (cute). Also It has to be about 10-20 bux. And you have to post pics of it first (i want to make shure it's kawaii [cute]). And it would be nice if it came with matching chopstick holder (WITH chopsticks). OH! and it CANNOT have any cartoon pictures, or be made out of plastic. It has to be made of ceramic, or something like that. Also it would be nice if it was made in japan. and not in china or corea (Korea) or whatever. I have found a bento box similar to the one im describing in e-bay, but it was 1 kotoba, and i don't want my gohan (rice) to touch my other things (it can get wet and i would not like that, plus 2 compartments looks more kawaii)

It's often just simpler, kind of. You ever hear the anime song where they make beef stroganoff with like, milk, salt, and pepper?
https://youtu.be/ibu_aoDrgTk

Kebab is just meat, tomato, cabbage, and sauce. It isn't heavily spiced, it isn't at complex as gyro or shawerma which I'm more used to. Japanese curry is based on British navel curry, and it kind of just has that standard flavor to it. There are always variations, but the base is the most common.
Hayashi rice is similar to curry but using a demiglace sauce, it's similarly foreign and similarly boringly standardized.
That said, both of those dishes (curry and Hayashi rice) are both really Japanese fusion food, and they're still more interesting than straight foreign foods simplified for Japanese tastes. See also Omurice.
