Carbonara i wanted to make it with no cream because we always had it with cream, and i completely scrambled it, they said 'it was fine', but obviously it was pretty shitty

I would take leftovers to my mom for validation, but I didn't actually cook for the family for a while. I made a nice basil pesto pasta and everybody loved it.

Same exact scenario, but instead I made cheap ass Bar S hot dogs with fried skillet onions and water them with ketchup. Pretty good

I think the first ”proper” dinner I made for my parents was a french onion soup where I thought ”1 bay leaf” meant the whole bag. It was disgusting.

Probably either a homemade pie (she liked it if this was it) or some soup or something I made, she definitely liked it either way.

I woke up early and surprised my dad on fathers day with 2 hotdogs.
I had absolutely no idea how to cook so I microwaved them for 8 minutes.
They exploded in the microwave.

i was 8 and I cooked an eggo waffle in a pan with a splash of water for my dad after staying up all night playing starfox 64. it was objectively disgusting but he ate it and hugged me tight after saying how much he enjoyed it.

I miss who he used to be.

By myself? Probably weekend breakfasts starting in middle school. Add sliced onions to a pan with some oil, then thin-sliced potatoes, salt and lots of pepper. Fry until golden and cooked through, drop the heat, then add a few beaten eggs and stir continuously for a fluffy scramble. I wasn't very sophisticated so the seasoning was pretty tame and I never used like green onions or chives to finish, or add a sausage crumble or anything, but it was a good morning ritual.
