Spaniard here. Brittish food is not as bad as their habits. In fact, specific pieces of cooking and food like black pudding are quite enjoyable so I don't think it helps your point to post one of the good things they have.

Problem is that they maybe don't have as much variety as other cultures and have given gastronomy for granted for way too long.

I'm French and I've been working for 2 years in the UK. One year in London, one year in Manchester.
If you like fast food the UK is ok even though their pizzas and burgers are mediocre.
When it comes to homemade food, people seem to put very little effort in it. It's not necessarly bad but it's very simple things with very simple flavours.
My gf's family had me two years in a row for christmas and the food was fine and well made but to me it looked like a sunday family dinner and was quite unremarkable for a christmas dinner. The best things I've eaten in the UK are the foreign foods which are excellent and seem authentic.
