What's more important in a hot sauce: the heat or the flavor?

I prefer a blend of both.

I like to cry and sweat when I eat wings. Blazin bw3 used to be really good. I bet the sauce you have is good be ghost peppers are among the tastiest of the super hots.

>> No.15009927

Both. Different foods improve more from different flavors of hot sauce, this also includes heat because overpowering heat makes flavors disappear and that is also different based on the meal.

Depends on the food I'm putting it on

>heat mainly
For shit like burritos, chicken, or things that will often have a fair amount of toppings already and just want to enhance what's there.
>Flavor
Shit that's by itself like pizza slice, hot dog, teriyaki stick, etc

The OP stuff is good all rounder though

Don't give a fuck what any of you plebs say, both are equally as important. A good hot sauce gives a good kick but also leaves a nice taste.
That being said tolerances vary so the food I make for myself is a lot spicier than what most people eat.

I don't like heat just for the sake of heat. If I wanted to experience pain in my mouth, i'd just chew glass and cut out the middle man.

I go for flavor over everything else. The heat is just a bonus and a sinus cleanser.

Flavor & Heat balanced > Flavor biased > non-hot sauce > heat biased

I love hot sauce when its really hot, but if it relies on extracts, and not on actual chillies for the heat, then it and the people who made it can fuck right off.

>> No.15012620

as others have mentioned, tis greatly dependent on the food with which said hot sauce is consumed. for example, as my sup this fine eve i will have my curry spinach and chickpeas atop basmati with a nice dash of valentina black label, a dollop of greek yogurt, and several chunks of pepper jack cheese. then, to finish thy leftovers, blackbean soup, with melted pepper jack chunks, crumbled lime tortilla chips topped with a drizzle of el yucateco green and a dollop of sour cream. BOTH ENHANCE AND HEATS, a deliciously lovely meal guaranteed sweats and love oh DELICIOUS . thanks for reading

At first it is a problem.
Over time if you eat hot food regularly it becomes a non-issue.
I ate a whole Reaper fresh a couple of weeks ago and that was the first time my stomach/guts got in a bit of a problem in years and years.
