Pepperoni is the default for pizza for me and I think in general (followed closely by just cheese pizza). If I go to/order from a pizza place for the first time I get a basic pepperoni no modifications. If it's bad I never order from that place again. If they can't get something basic as the default pizza then I don't trust them to get anything else right.

Outside of pepperoni pizza, any sausage pizza is good. I'm a fan of a mayo or hot sauce swirl from time to time.
