Losing weight isn't the only concern.

While a caloric deficit is essential for weight loss, and you can lose the extra kilos by eating nothing but lard and chocolate, it's more important to give your body what it needs in terms of nutrients and lowering the consumption of saturated fats.

> but muh vegetable oils are bad
> but muh 'people didn't hagr heart attacks before'

Yes, they did. People had the same problems we do today, including cancer and autism. It just went undiagnosed.

I'm not sure smaller portions is where it's at. At the end of the day, it's all calories in - calories out... but some things can help.

Having a large portion of veggies and some whole wheat bread with your food will go a long way towards keeping you full for longer, reducing cravings and snacking (unless the snacking is more of a psychological thing, in which case no diets will work).

Have you tried to have your wife do actionable, small and permanent changes in her eating habits?. I was obese a few years ago, and this was the one thing that worked.-

>brown rice

She fell for the whole grains is healthy meme. That shit is too high in glycemic index and carbs. Tell her to cut the carbs. Give her pure fat and protein. Like bacon omelette with avocado, roasted peppers with a steak, , butter coffee, and for dessert an almond milk smoothie with cream cheese and xanthan gum so it's super thick as if it had been an oatmeal shake. All of that is like 1400 calories depending on the portions and she will feel so full and sick of food she won't want to eat at all.

If she eats rice and chicken breasts she will quit her diet.

Make the food anyway, and nake sure it smells heavenly. She'll quit the rice and chicken after the first day.

Glad it worked for you. I managed to lose weight through the regular deficit. I pretty much just needed to cut off the obviously unhealthy shit such as sodas, cookies and chips, as well as do a bit of exercise.

No onions I understand but if you seriously don't put salt and pepper in your beef in the very least what the FUCK is wrong with you???

when they say no spice they are mad that there isn't half the spice wrack in the burger i always have salt and pepper.

"the secret to a great burger is in the seasoning, and so.. too many people make the burger and they don't season it properly, so season this thing. chili flakes, garlic powder, salt, pepper" - Gordon Ramsey
