What are some simple recipes where the american version is overcomplicated?
Pic related and fried rice come to mind.

If you're free now, why would you ever go to jail?

The regime's going to fall in two weeks, so just wander off to Mexico for a year or two. By the time you come back, whatever files document the charges against you will have been destroyed in the riots and you'll be able to resume life as normal.

I use the one from Olive Garden’s website.
>6 Tablespoons butter
>1 Tablespoon garlic, minced
>2 Tablespoons all-purpose flour
>1.5 cups heavy cream
>1.5 cups whole milk
>½ cup Parmesan cheese, grated and at room temperature
>½ cup Romano cheese, grated and at room temperature
>Salt and black pepper, to taste
You make a roux with the butter and flour, then sauté the garlic in the roux. Then add the milk and cream, whisk it together until smooth, then add the cheese and whisk that until smooth. Then gently heat it until it’s just barely a simmer and let it go for idk, 10-15 min. Shouldn’t bubble too much.

You MUST shred or grate the cheese yourself. Pre-grated cheese has cellulose powder in it that will gum up your sauce and make it gritty. Also it has much less pungency and is less flavorful. Olive Garden says to use “imported” but I’ve had great results with domestic parmesan cheese wedges. This is an amazing alfredo sauce recipe desu. I don’t care if Olive Garden uses it, it rocks.

>Both "Parmigiano-Reggiano" and "Parmesan" are protected designations of origin (PDO) for cheeses produced in these provinces under Italian and European law.[1] Outside the EU, the name "Parmesan" can legally be used for similar cheeses, with only the full Italian name unambiguously referring to PDO Parmigiano-Reggiano.

Now I'm genuinely curios what the US interpretation of "parmesan" is like

This is why middle class restaurants are dying. People would rather buy $5 fast food or go all out and buy expensive hand made food. No one wants food that has been turned by a corporation into fancy overpriced fastfood.
