What are /ck/'s favorite sessionable stouts? Below 8%.

>> No.14939869

Alright bros I've been trying to find a silky smooth/creeamy/sweet kind of stout that's 8% or above.
I've had the Breakfast Stout, Nitro Milk, Old Rasputin, Sam Adams Oatmeal. and a few others but I think I like the Nitro the most but it's only 6% and I want something slightly sweeter. I'm guessing I'm looking for another milk stout. Any suggestions?

>Its sad that in the US, the go to styles are all lagers and pilsner.
You misunderstand.

Lagers are THE most consumed style in the world but it has nothing to do with quality/taste/whatever. You can simply drink more of it. Two imperial stouts and most people are done for the night, meanwhile you can drink lager all day long and be functional. Lager has the less ABV, less sugar, less calories, less everything so you consume more.

World wide top 10 are all lager.

That's fairly standard for high ABV beers. Most of your imperial/double/triple beers are in that calorie range. Calories are directly proportional to alcohol %.

That being said, totally worth it. It's our special occasion beer.

I used to like stouts but I don't anymore. The only stout I like is Guinness.
Ones I don't like: Sierra Nevada Stout and Imperial Stout, Founder's Breakfast Stout, local stouts I have had at breweries.

Always been my favorite style of beer. I like them all, even chocolate/coffee it doesn't matter. Even tried a choc peanut butter stout wich was better than expected, they have one with jelly but that's where I draw the line. I have always liked Guinness & still do, I like murphy's & beamish as well. I'm obsessed with the chocolate chili stouts that cost about 15-30$ for a 12oz, I like the barrel aged stouts if I want something with a high abv.
