Just want some ideas for something I can make before work without a ton of dirty dishes. Nothing fancy, just fast to cook and prepare.

i make either of these (or sometimes both at once) and also mix in some frozen vegetables (usually brussels sprouts and broccoli) to give it a lot of body, also might dice up some cooked chicken or pork or whatever.. add a scoop of yogurt when it's done and a drizzle of hot sauce.. whatever

Go Asian with congee or an egg and noodle dish with leftovers.

Another option is to use a small pot and make a frittata. Or if you don't mind overnighting a quiche...

It was Fio's birthday last week on October 2nd! Also Momo, Gandhi, and ||me||
Line a baking pan with aluminum foil and bake two strips of bacon. Scramble some eggs, toast an English muffin, add cheese and a bit of hot sauce. Easy egg sandwich with only a frying pan and plate to clean up, since you lined the pan.
Or fry the bacon in the pan first, then cook the eggs.

Buy one of the below. Look inside and realize that if you cook and chop up some breakfast meat, get or shred some cheese, and maybe dice some veggies, you can approximate the same thing in a bowl and have it done in about a minute and a half for pennies on the dollar.

Shirred eggs and breakfast sausage patties take the same amount of time in the toaster oven.

Butter a custard dish or ramekin
Put in eggs, s&p, optional herbs
Put custard dish on baking tray that fits toaster oven
Put sausage patties or sliced spam on same tray (foil between sausage and tray if you want easy cleanup)

Set 375f, 12 minutes
Come back in 15+ minutes

The toaster oven is suggested here, as it turns itself off, and has a limited amount of carryover heat, so eggs aren't ruined if you take an extra 10 minutes fapping in the shower.

Cook sausage or bacon and set it aside. Use the grease to cook potatoes and veggies (onions, peppers, shrooms). When potatoes are almost done, add eggs and cheese. Throw sausage back in. Cover the skillet to let cheese melt

Always make this.
Sautee some mushrooms and ham
Add a little butter and add some hash browns and cook until golden brown
Then create a couple of divets and add oil to divet or fat of choice then add an egg to each divet
Then put in the oven for about 3 minutes
Top with avocados or tomatoes or both.
Comes out great.

Nobody's said omelette yet.

Set a (nonstick) pan on the stove on med-high with some oil. Beat the piss out of some eggs, and maybe slice up some cheese, and maybe some green onion if you're feeling fancy. By the time that's done, you're pan's hot. Add butter if you want, eggs, stir a little bit, top/"stuff", rinse out your egg bowl (wash if you can be done inside of 60s), flip your eggs onto a plate, put some water in the pan. Chow down. You can be done eating, and mostly cleaned up in a 5 minute window.

I do a one pan chilaquiles.

Put some salsa in a non-stick or seasoned carbon steel / cast iron skillet and warm it up.

Toss on some tortilla chips and let them get soggy

Scoot that to the side and toss in a cup of refried beans to get warm.

Move the beans to a plate once they're warm.

Scramble or fry an egg or two in the empty skillet space.

Plate the salsa + tortillas next to the beans and then put the egg on top.

It's a pretty okay one pan sloppa.

it seems so obvious people really shouldn't mention it. if you own a well seasoned cast iron pan you can make whatever normal fried breakfast foods anyone makes with minimal cleanup. I own a blackstone griddle and could cook whatever on that thing and all I have to do is scrape it if it left a mess. pancakes, sausage, eggs, whatever similar are all zero cleanup on a well seasoned piece of cookware. fuck nonstick garbage btw

I bought a grout brush at home depot. cast iron goes in the sink with hot water, scrub with grout brush then dry out. if there is no stuck on food you can just wipe the oil out with a fast food napkin and put it away until tomorrow's breakfast and skip the sink entirely. you also don't need to replace the pan every couple of years.

Garlic mushrooms on toast. Put a few teaspoons of olive oil and water in the pan with a diced clove of garlic, add in some button mushrooms (or chop some regular mushrooms in half) and cover it over to steam for a few minutes. When they're done, uncover and throw in some mascarpone with parsley, chives, salt and pepper, or whatever seasoning you want. Once everything is melted and mixed, serve it on any kind of toast (sourdough is best).

The only problem is it can take a while to wash the cheese off the pan afterwards.
