I think that Hawaiian Pizza (canadian bacon/ham and pineapple) is trash, way too sweet. However, Crumbled Sausage and Pineapple accomplishes the sweet and savory combination much better, and the acidity from the pineapple helps cut the higher fat content of the sausage. That said, I'm assuming we're talking about shitty to mediocre pizza, good pizza really doesn't need any sort of topping.

Personally I think people who love Pineapple on pizza have blown out their palettes. I've had it, it's alright, but the flavor is extremely strong.
I'm fairly certain that people who eat pineapple on pizza are also drinking lots of sugary drinks, eating candy or chips constantly, or other various artificially flavored fast food type things to excess.
