What are the basic cooking utensils that someone who is looking to get into Italian/french cooking (but also just cooking in general) should own? I own a lodge cast iron pan, one chef knife and some shitty spatulas/cutlery. Is Le Creuset a good brand for pots and pans? Also, for a deep pot, is enamelled cast iron or stainless steel better?

I have a set like this, some cast Iron skillets and dutch ovens as well. Cuisinox is a nice compromise between quality and price. Good bang for the buck. You can buy sets, or individual pieces as you want them.

buy a fish turner. they're kind of a meme but they are great for lots of stuff like pancakes and getting things off baking sheets. they are springy so they are useful for getting under things near the edge of a pan

pretty much you just need a pan, a big stock pot, and a knife for most of cooking. then you can get like a blender and a rolling pin or something.

Just got a 20cm chef's knife, a 12cm universal knife from Wusthof, a honing steel and ceramic wheel sharpener from Victorinox, and a King 1000/6000 whetstone.
Never used any big name brand kitchen utensils before, just regular generic ones.
How did I do?
