You can drink gin for years before you start to like it.

If you get it as cold as you can, it should start to become syrupy and the flavors will be somewhat supressed. It will still hurt. Just less.

This is caused by masses of scrubs who mix their gin with so much soda, herbs, juices, etc that they can't tell a good gin apart from a bad one, so you have trash in the high price points touted as good.
You're going to have to ignore the recommendations for mixing tier spirit like in your OP.
Barrel age is a sure sign that it's intended for sipping. Following that your best bet is probably local botanicals but even that is iffy.

It goes well with tonic, of course. Buying a higher quality tonic is a far more fruitful endeavour than attempting to find a higher quality gin. Best I've come across is Capi, though it is a little too flavourful if you have actually found a nice gin and want to enjoy it in G&T form.

I absolutely hate gin on it's on, I cant do a shot of it but it's my go to liquor. a squirt of lemon juice in a tall glass of water completely kills any gin taste. >a squirt of lemon juice in a tall glass of water completely kills any gin taste
>I absolutely hate gin

Shouldn't you be either forsaking gin in favour of vodka, or buying the cheapest gin possible?

Also as someone who doesn't like gin, why are you converting people to gin, and given that you don't like Tanqueray itself why are you telling people it's good, including friends who trust you?

You're either being paid or are retarded.
