My boss (early-mid 50s) has eaten 4 slices of gas station bacon for breakfast for at least the last decade, he then tops that off with a monster energy, sometimes another later. He does actually stay fit but everyone keeps telling him it will probably kill him, the cognitive dissonance is just too strong.

Whenever they do our yearly health screenings in office (optional, obviously) he's more than happy to share his far too high blood pressure, I imagine saying it out loud has some form of therapeutic response but he never acts on it to do anything about it.

No cooking method will change the level of salt and i agree with you its way too much on its own, but good, well cooked bacon on a BLT with some really good tomatoes is great.

Bake it starting in a cold oven and pull it out before it starts looking like what crispy skillet bacon looks like, it will look too soft and rubbery/chewy at first, but once it cools down itll firm up and be melt in your mouth smooth and totally worth it for sandwiches.
