you actually need to eat a lot of the mushroom for effects, daily. Also it wont give you energy or help you in concentrating, in fact as far as I remember studies show that it will actually make it harder to concentrate. On the other hand if the not so conclusive studies are correct it should help with learning, as in forming new patterns and connections within the brain. Why bother with eating big ammounts of lions mane if you could just eat psylocibine, or ketamine. Both have shown potential of doing the same.

Just my own experience, but I've found microdosing with psilocybin/psilocybes a few days a week helps me concentrate, memorize things, and come up with creative solutions to nonsense problems... unfortunately now I'm no longer just a marketing guy, but also co-producer for pretty much any audio, voiceover guy, head foley (because I recorded me murdering a watermelon through an overdrive pedal), and I have to sit in on meetings with the visual design crew. I didn't realize that a side effect of mushrooms was the need to wear many hats.

I've been microdosing myself for the past six months, has been huge in the process of alleviating my anxiety and depression disorders. Not a magic bullet by any means, and is just supplemental to the actual CBT work I'm doing, but it's definitely increased the efficacy of the exercises I've been trying.

The way I like to explain it is if your mind is a ski slope, skiing down the same paths over and over wears a groove into the snow, and makes you more likely to follow that path. Psilocybin is like a fresh layer of snow, making it easier to wear alternate grooves into the hill rather than following past ones.

Productivity has gone up at work, I enjoy interpersonal interactions quite a bit more, less ambiguous anxiety, and fewer days feeling glum or low-energy. If I microdosed on its own without also working on self growth, I'm not sure I would have seen any improvement, but I think it's been helpful in making me open to discarding past reflexive behaviors and thought patterns. Very possibly a placebo because I'm placing my faith in something outside myself, but results are results

I'll dumb it down for you, since you're likely retarded.

You cannot eat any amount of lion's mane mushroom to make yourself smarter, regrow neurons, improve your concentration, etc. Trials that show improved growth of dendrites on neurons require isolating millimolar concentrations of one particular chemical present in Lion's mane and growing a pure strain of neuronal cells in media with said chemical to elicit any sort of dendrite expansion or neuronal growth.

Seeing as these chemicals aren't present in anything CLOSE to millimolar concentrations in Lion's Mane mushrooms and would have to first pass through the digestive tract, be absorbed, filtered through the liver, and pass the blood-brain barrier to even reach the cells they purportedly affect, it would be ludicrous to immediately suggest that eating lion's mane or lion's mane supplements is a clinically supported therapy.

But, like I said, you're retarded, and won't understand a quarter of what I typed.

>HE-ETH compared to HE-HWA exerted potent neuroprotection and higher NO-suppressing anti-inflammatory activity in HT22 hippocampal neurons and BV2 microglia in vitro. The mechanisms of neuroprotection were through the improvement of antioxidant, mitochondrial function and anti-apoptosis. HE-ETH could be potentially explored as a neuroprotective agent in neuron-glia environment. However, further studies are needed to elucidate the mechanistic pathways involved in the neuroprotection and to study its efficacy in vivo.
In other words, it helps in some ways but they still need more testing? Is that a basic breakdown of the conclusion here?

>Regarding antioxidant

There is no single, universal method capable of providing an accurate, comprehensive picture of antioxidant profile because several mechanisms underlying antioxidant activity have been proposed including termination of free radical mediated chain reaction, hydrogen donation, chelation of catalytic ions, and elimination of peroxides [24]. Thus, a single assay is not sufficient to measure the total antioxidant capacity of the mushrooms

>Radical elimination
As shown in Table 2, the scavenging activity of mushroom extracts towards DPPH free radicals was expressed in terms of IC50. Since a lower IC50 value indicates stronger ability of the extracts to act as DPPH radical scavengers, then it is obvious that the positive controls were excellent DPPH radical scavengers with quercetin exhibited >100-fold higher scavenging activity (IC50 = 0.03 mg/mL) compared to the mushroom extracts (IC50 = 5.28–39.05mg/mL)

They even go on to mention that Pleurotus ostreatus, or Oyster mushroom, eliminates radicals 2-3x more effectively than Lion's Mane. So why would someone choose lion's mane?
Because it's expensive, sounds exotic, and you're a chump.

>Regarding "reducing depression" in mice

This study, again, relies on isolating a single chemical found in Lion's Mane Mushroom, of which the bioavaliability through consumption of mushroom flesh is unknown and the results are far from conclusive.
