Hi there anon. It's 14:22 in Germany. (2:22pm)
I had toast and some goat cheese with rosemary for breakfast. Nothing too fancy. Have a nice day!

Should I get kolaches or donuts from a local place, or should I get chic-fil-a/McDonald's?

It's my birthday and I feel like treating myself.

Now that's a healthy way to start the day.

Did it how we used to at the restaurant I worked at. Diced up the tofu, put it in cold water, and then spoon some in your bowl when you want soup. I got the miso with the dashi in it so that was a bit of a cheat. I personally mix rice and soup together with chili and garlic pastes to make a tasty and nourishing gruel. It's what we were allowed to eat for free at the restaurant so I'm fond of it.

Maybe a midwesterner can help. I'm trying to remember a chicken stew with noodles my grandparents made. He was from Iowa. Any local ways you guys make it? My papa would make noodles and my granny the broth and chicken. It was thick with thin and twisty noodles.

Eggs from my neighbors free range chickens cooked in duck fat from my pastured ducks, along with cream in my coffee. (the cream sucks atm while I look for a good dairy)

I am also in the midwest.

I have a morning meeting so I haven't made breakfast yet, but I'm either going to do a kimchi omelette or just some almond butter and toast, depending on how much time I want to spend on it.

Sounds heavenly. My neighbor's chicken stopped producing and they aren't looking to get any more. Never thought to pasture ducks, what kind of land does that require?

Well I'm doing about 31 on less than 2 acres (rotating pasture and I also have a growing garden) if that gives you an idea. I will end up with only about 16 ducks after i finish slaughtering the surplus males.

My neighbor has about 12-20 chickens. She lets them go wherever and I always get a ton of eggs from her, typically 8 dozen. One time she gave me all 8 dozen for free. Wouldn't take my money no matter how hard I tried to pay her. What a saint.
