Why are chicken burgers completely plain everywhere?
Beef burgers it seems like a contest on whoever can stack the most shit between any amount of buns, but you're lucky if you find a place that puts more than lettuce and mayo on a chicken burger

I have taken to adding my own vine ripened tomatoes, extra mayo, bacon, things like that. It enhanced most chicken sandwiches. But for some reason it didn't work with the popeyes chicken sandwich (which I expected to actually turn out the best). Instead it just didn't work at all. I realized the reason the popeyes chicken sandwich is one of the better ones is that it is actually pretty dang fatty, where almost all others range from pretty dry to unbearably dry. It is actually meant to stand alone. Too many extra ingredients just get drowned out. It makes no difference.

I dunno, most fast food/takeout places near me offer chicken burgers with stuff like onion rings and hash browns on top. Is it not just a problem with the area local to you?
Things like McDonalds are always disappointing though, just mayo and lettuce like you say. But there's so many alternative options that it doesn't really matter.

Then you missed the entire thread about this the other week. Burger applies to the prep of the patty. The difference between a chicken burger and a chicken sandwich is not the bread but actually the preparation method of the chicken. If it is ground meat formed into a patty it is a burger, if it is a breaded filet it is a sandwich.
