spartan diets are pretty based they focus on meat and carbs with lots of dairy for that muscle and energy. The thing about the greeks though is that they were eating wheat bread with lots of fiber, it wasn't highly processed like it is now. If you do buy bread make sure it has a lot of fiber in it.

We have the Ploughman's Lunch in England.

Most importantly it revolves around some nice crusty bread and some strong, hard cheese, usually served with apple slices to complement the flavours, and pickle or chutney. Maybe some local vegetables like carrot or radishes too, pickled onions.

These days they can come with all sorts too, maybe a slice of pork pie, a nice Scotch Egg.

All washed down with a pint of a nice session ale, red or brown. No wanky double IPAs or whatever.
