I hail from the south east orient and I have come to dunk on all other weak ass sandwiches. There is no worthy competition against the glorious banh mi.

I also love banh mi. Too bad its reputation has been ruined by metrosexuals.

I kind of agree with her though. it's just a sandwich so it's okay.

no it's really good. I never said it was shit. I said I liked it. It has pork pate and the pressed meat on it that I couldn't identify- it's not even like a cold cut. more like a sliced terrine but chunky. A lot of Vietnamese people settled in Louisiana after the war and they brought their bahn mi's but called them Vietnamese Po Boys to make it easier to market to the locals.

>pho

that reminds me. after she lit me up about the banh mi, i brought up that I wanted to try pho which was a lie but that was the only other vietnamese food I could think of. which makes sense since like you said, it's just banh mi and pho out there if we're being honest.. anyways, I pronounced it in the most ridiculous way possible knowing she would correct me and I could fight her over it. figured if she was going to get pissed anyways, might as well get my money's worth so when she was like "anon, i'm vietnamese. i know how to say it." and I basically gave her the umm no sweaty routine. can't say she was a good sport about it but i had fun at least.
