Can you use peanut butter or sunflower powder in place of cocoa powder for a typical chocolate oil cake recipe with good results? I found adding a few chips of cocoa butter to melt in my sunbutter frosting made an incredibly delicious frosting that tastes almost exactly like the inside of a reese's pieces, and wanted to use it on a cake.

Well damn, I had hoped someone already tried it here. I'll order some and expirement, make a thread detailing it since this'll definitely be dead before it gets here.

I mean, essentially you'd just be adding a different fatty flavorant to your cake. You could do the same thing with any nut, dried fruit, or legume and achieve a similar result.

The texture might be different, it would be hard to mill sunflowers down to the same powder level as cocoa powder.
