That is with the original, the sugar free only has 1g which is much healthier and it still tastes good, just not as sweet.

What I posted can be a bulgogi marinade. Probably had the ssamjjang in something, but it's hard to remember, because so much was just some kind of gochujang variant. But had food at her parent's house and she raved about bibimbap, which at the time wasn't hip yet, so we had to get it in NOVA where she was from, and it sucked hard then, and it sucked hard now trying the trendy places that serve it.

Amazing, isn't? That most people aren't aware that BBQ sauce is rediculously easy to make with ketchup, brown sugar, a splash of liquid smoke, black pepper and whatever else you like spicewise.
I'll add a few shakes of ginger powder and sometimes a few drops of clove oil or squirts of sriracha, depending on the meat.

Usually to finish cooking (brush on in the last few minutes of BBQ for example), or to dip into after something is fully cooked. They really don't penetrate well as a marinade and many are sugary and would result in a burned exterior unless the heat was really well. I also see them used for slower-cooker pulled pork/chicken, where they'll just dump in the meat, some sauce, maybe some aromatics, and let it go all day and just shred it in its own sauce at night.

This isn't true at all. I marinate chicken in it then paint it on every flip the entire cooking time. Hot lump charcoal. You can't do it on propane or it will gunk up the burners.

Marinades are completely useless anon. They're too runny. If you take boneless chicken thighs and marinate them in stubbs sauce like OP overnight then grill them over hot lump charcoal like mesquite and use a basting brush to paint sauce on each flip you will have yourself ana amazing bark on flavorful chicken. Works with teriyaki or szechuan sauces as well. I do it when I don't want to spend 4 or 5 hours smoking birds.
