I get where you're coming from but it was genuinely incredible. Radically different from all double IPAs I tasted before or after it. Stumbled across this. Reminded me of how good IPAs used to be 10+ years ago before the invasion of the American IPA. No citrusy flavours, refreshingly bitter with the bitterness counteracted by a pleasant maltiness in the background.

It seems most English brewers have jumped on the American IPA bandwagon and are sending out beers brewed with American hops to supermarkets. American hops can fuck right off.

We have the opposite tastes. I don't like much maltiness, I hate sour, I hate salty (gose is the worst), but I love strongly hopped IPAs and a nice bitterness.

I do find it a bit odd to say "hop flavor" though. There's a lot of hops out there and they can taste very different. Some are very pine-like, others citrus-like or other fruit flavors. I've had two different IPAs tonight that couldn't taste more distinct from each other (voodoo ranger and a double IPA called Paradise Lost by SPB)

Mas Agave is pretty good, though pretty strong for a gose and isn't really typical of them. Anderson Valley Brewing co makes some good goses. They are unfortunately a little bit of an oddball for most brewers it seems and rarely will you see a brewer make more than 1 or 2.

Months later, I decided to give goses a shot again, tried Cigar City's Margarita Gose. Just couldn't enjoy it. Tasted way too sour and nasty, and to add insult to injury, it was only 4%

Thanks, I'll keep an eye out for that Founders gose. I'd recommend you some IPAs, but the best examples I know of are double IPAs, and the ones I've had probably aren't widely available. One thing they probably all have in common though is a nice creamy texture and a very full flavor profile. Very luxurious
