Sounds like seared salmon steak with roasted potatoes and grilled asparagus. Serve a nice bottle of red wine and finish with chocolate covered strawberries (whip cream if you theres enough tension)

Just make whatever but present it in a good way.

I usually go for tagliatelle with zuccini and pancetta in alfredo sauce thing (basically one of the total of 6 meals I can cook). Usually serve it with some antipasto on the side and a good red wine (3.7 and upwards on Vivino).
The only one who was not impressed was the french foodie girl. Her culinary skills were far more superior to those of mine though.
