Never got this meme. Looks like a fat hamburger.

Bacon in general is one of the only foods to ever actually become a meme. Not enough people can afford or care about Filet Mingon for it to be a meme.

Go in any meat section of any grocery store, I bet you find a bacon wrapped filet

can you actually not articulate yourself in the slightest?
what the fuck is wrong with you?

The filet itself is a meme. The bacon-wrapped filet is an attempt to save the cut. The moment the tenderloin is removed from the bone, and therefore the strip, is the moment that the filet becomes ruined. Tenderness isn't important if the cut doesn't have any beef flavor. On a porterhouse/t-bone, a filet is a fine cut of meat because it's still attached to the bone, giving it more flavor and even more tenderness, plus the lack of flavor is saved by the beefiness of the strip.

At least the bacon-wrapped filet has flavor.

just because something is pretentious and stupid doesn't mean it's a meme

it's strange how the least flavorful piece of meat on the cow is also one of the most pricey

It's shit. There's plenty of tender cuts of the animal that have more flavor and are soft enough. Filet is known for it's tenderness, but is bland and has no fat content. You can do some really interesting things with it that's more often done with pork loin, but it's still overpriced.

People think the fillet is better because it is the most expensive and tender cut. Boomer white people love flavorless shit so of course they don't care that there isn't much flavor in the cut.

The ones you see in vacuum sealed packs at the supermarket aren't really tenderloin, they're just mystery beef scraps held together with meat glue. I guess they're kind of meme when you're young and/or poor but after getting fooled by them once you probably won't buy anymore unless you're in for a lifetime of being poor.

Ribeye > Fillet.
I want to taste the beefy flavour when I'm eating beef and I want it to have a bit of a bite. If I want a tender flavourless piece of beef, I will just eat ground beef

>> No.14367041

Bacon isn't worth the price when consuming straight. A good quality pack (something like 12 strips?) is going to run around $8. A typical person would go through probably 4-5 strips in a sitting. I'll use it in dishes or get the cheap stuff when I need to render it, but that's as far as I'll go.
