I used to be the type to enjoy a well done steak with some sort of steak sauce because that is how I was raised. I hated the first time I ate a steak that wasn't well done because I associated th e taste of beef with raw grossness.

Once I got over that reaction I ended up enjoying medium rare steaks. Well done steaks are completely flavorless and dry so they require stuff like ketchup and steak sauce to make it palatable.
