So, seconding the sushi guys, the tastiest fish I've ever eaten was the never frozen belly of a bluefin tuna that had been caught 9 hours prior, and while I didn't get anything, I know it was risky.

That being said, once I also thought I could just use the scallops I bought at a normal grocery store to make spicy scallop hand rolls, and while not intestinal parasites, I did get cholera.

This could work if you're in the USA. Americans freak out over any ground beef that isn't cooked grey. So probably USA have very low standards when it comes to ground beef. I know they have to sterilize chicken in chlorine before selling it because the production facilities are so unsanitary.

The scallops were delicious, I never suspected a thing. I found out later they were Mexican caught scallops.

The thing that surprised me the most about it though, was it was probably the least physically unpleasant food poisoning I ever got. No pain or nausea whatsoever, I just shit water every 20 minutes for three days, and had to drink a lot of gatorade to keep hydrated.
