>each person eats 4 or 5 on average

Boomers should be hedonistic. Shortens their lives, making them less of an economic burden on us, and it also makes what's left of their lives a lot more enjoyable than puttering around for 5 more decades. Unironically a win-win.

Saturated fat has been unfairly demonized. But now scientists are starting to realize that beef fat is actually good for you.

You know the old saying, you can please some of the people some of the time but you can't please all of the people all of the time.
I wish I had some in my family that could make empanadas, as we get older less and less know how to do it.

Fat is not the enemy. Your body has a way easier time turning sugar into body fat than it does with dietary fat.

I make my filling with ground beef fat drained, garlic, onions, bell pepper, boiled egg, olives, raisins, tomato paste, salt and pepper, then egg wash empanadas for color and bake in the oven with foil shield around the pan to prevent the crust edges from cooking too fast.

>Cheaper beef of higher quality
Bullfuckingshit.
In the beforetimes, around Memorial Day, Independence Day and Labor Day, 80% lean ground beef went for as little as 99c/lb. The next cheapest cut of beef was like $3/lb or more.
>what if I want beef in February, huh?
Around those holidays, buy extra and stock up the freezer.
This is why I didn't have to panic shop back in March and April like all the other fuckwits did. Short of a power failure, I've got enough food for several months.

There's some truth to it that a lot of people don't really understand what healthy food is though. Like how all the low fat products claimed to be healthier just add some kind of thickener and a bunch of sugar. Or people thinking dry salads are healthy when they aren't really giving you as much nutrition as a salad with some oil.

>> No.14095852

>>14095824
It's hardly full of the stuff. I've got maybe two pounds of it on hand. Since I don't eat much meat to begin with, it lasts me quite some time.
>need space for seafood
I see you, much like myself, are a man of refined tastes. I've far more seafood in the freezer than anything else. Various fishes. Squid. Octopus. Shrimp. I had cuttlefish but I used it up last week with potato, tomato, peas and onion.
Bivalves and shellfish (other than shrimp) I prefer to buy live. Looking forward to crawfish season, Anon?

Overeating makes you fat. Both fat and sugar can make you gain weight if you eat more calories than you need with either one.
