Papa John's is the definition of mediocre, and the fact that you have to take a mortgage out to buy a single pizza there makes it that much worse. Pizza Hut does it better for nearly half the price, and Little Caesar's is slightly better for unfathomably cheaper. The only thing I like about Papa John's is that they have that fluffy "Pampers" crust that Dominos used to have but got rid of... even then when I get in the mood for it I recoil at the prices and lack of deals and end up getting something better and cheaper.

Papa Johns isn't expensive unless you fail to use a coupon code. Fuck, every pizza place is expensive without coupons, besides Little Caesar's.
And you cannot possibly say the LC is better than Papa Johns, it's false as fuck. I can get down on a hot and ready but you're lying to yourself if you say it's better than any other chain.

>>14068387
Go fuck yourself you pathetic elitist wageshit. Everyone knows to surf pizza places for their deals, I even mentioned that in my post, or did you fail reading class before dropping out of high school?
I'll restate it though: Papa's has no deals at all.
Pizza Hut you can get a $10 three-topping large any time. Dominos you can get an $8 two topping medium, any time. Papa John's """deals""" are $15 for a specialty pizza or $13 for a three topping large. Insane, and not worth the cost when Dominos is so cheap, Pizza Hut is so much better, and Little Caesar's exists.

>>14068390
You have no taste and are obviously retarded. First point: see above.
Second, Little Caesar's is much better than it has any right to be and it is in fact better than many regional chains and is certainly better than Papa John's. Invariably you will leave a Papa's with a bubbled up pizza with too much gormless diaper crust that isn't edible without the dipping sauce. Little Caesar's is nothing if not consistent, a pizza of the same quality as Domino's but cheaper, and never have I had a bubbled pizza or felt the crust was just flavorless filler the way I have with Papa's. The bubbling issue is common at Domino's as well but not consistent, whereas I expect my Papa John's to be cooked incorrectly.
There is no reason to get Papa John's over Little Caesar's, Dominos or Pizza Hut ever, and there's no reason to get Domino's over Little Caesar's besides topping selection.

Web order five-pie three minutes before close. If it's a web order we can't do anything about it. If it had been a phone order my boss would have just cancelled it and called and said we were having problems with the oven or something.

It was a bunch of Indians over in a gated community (I work in the middle of Kissimmee FL so our delivery area is 90% resorts, hotels, and swanky gated stuff like that) so it's already a pain to get in, because nobody ever gives you a gate code, and most of these places are just vacation stuff so you have to either call the guard who'll complain at you for a while before they let you in or you have to call the customer, who probably doesn't even know the gate code. I get inside, go and deliver the order, the guy tips me ten bucks but tells me "Keep the change, boy." I'm white but it still felt racist. Ten bucks is ten bucks, however, and because of the order the other closer got everything done except the dishes so I could just chill out and do dishes while he mopped the whole store. Having to crank out five pies while my bipolar 20-year-old boss was bitching about it was a little stressful though.

I had a corporate credit card, and I always tipped well, but I was never really sure how much of that went to the actual delivery guy if it was on a card. So what's the story with credit card tips? How much of those do you actually see?

>> No.14074167

The way it works for Papa John's is, for a delivery order, there's a 4 dollar delivery fee that the driver does not get any of, then whatever you tip goes straight to the driver. There are no checks and balances on our end other than if you tip more than the total value of whatever you ordered a manager has to approve it. You usually run into this with drunk people ordering one cheesestick and tipping big or whatever. On the other hand cash tips aren't recorded at all so they aren't taxed. If you order carryout and tip, that gets split between all the instore people, including managers, but drivers see none of that.

With the pandemic, credit card tips are very common. Before then, it was about a fifty-fifty split. Probably most common, at least in my area, was people paying with a card and then writing in the tip on the receipt, but that's because if you order over the phone you can't pre-tip.

I showed her the order summary and pointed out that she hadn't asked for any of that stuff, and she told me that she called the store and told them to add all that stuff on, so I guess whoever she talked to either forgot or didn't bother in the first place. I then had to drive fifteen minutes back to the store, collect all her crap in the middle of rush, and drive back out to her to deliver one dollar worth of product, for which I didn't get tipped anything extra. It wasn't really her fault and I can understand being upset but there is a huge shoot the messenger attitude people seem to have when they get a bad order. Like, there was literally no way for me to know she wanted all that extra shit but she was acting like I had deliberately left it out to...waste my own time and money? Ninety percent of the time, if there's something wrong with your order, it's not the driver to blame for it.

Other than that there's just the typical assortment of people who don't understand that we don't sell something, can't do something, or don't deliver to their area, but they usually don't make a huge fuss about it.

Little Caesars is absolute shit. The pizza crust is stale as fuck 100% of the time. Frozen Tombstone pizza is better than Little Caesars.

their criticisms always change with the wind, and sometimes it is straight up tin foil shit about maggots, rats, and similar incredible claims

Yeah but actually good pizzas are rare and don't do delivery, and it's really not the same as american-type pizzas that you eat when you crave fast food
Fun fact, sometimes some pizza places are too good, way too much flavor to really appreciate it

Not really. It's more like I *want* a pizza so badly that I'll settle for chain pizza if it's the only thing available. But then, I've also never wanted Taco Bell over actual Mexican. I "want" Taco Bell when it's 1 AM and there's nothing else open.

The chain I actually want is Jet's Pizza, if I ever move to an area without it I hope I can find some local place that's equal or higher quality for the price point, because I have eaten Jet's so long I really wouldn't appreciate PJ, Dom, or Hut as much.

The steps you see online are not accurate to what is going on in the store. Takes 2 minutes to make a pizza, 6-10 minute cook time, then it sits on the heating rack (quality check) until the orders before it are fulfilled.
