>google for a recipe
>first page of results all include theses length essays on the recipe, the history of the food, the complete history of the country of origin, the author's childhood, their coming of age story, a complete family history of every grandma in their family line
>2% of the page is the recipe
>step 1: combine ingredients
>step 2: cook
>rest of the page is ads and comments
>takes 20 minutes to load the 300 affiliate sites and content from other websites

Advertisers pay them more for 'lengthier' recipes.
Bored housewives also eat that shit up.

>recipes are always fucked up with unconventional ingredients or cooking methods, because the stupid housewife that wrote this shit thinks she's a michelin star chef

but why does the Google algorithm promote this garbage? a lot of the recipes seem like they're written by middle schoolers as 5 paragraph book reports . when you start looking at cocktail recipes the meta is to preface the recipe with a history of each and every ingredient in the cocktail. for some reason every spirit needs an origin story

The internet is so hostile now. Was it inevitable for it to be turned into its present state of soulless money sucking?

You're the one who is too poor or stupid to read recipe books or use proper websites that dont have this kinda bs.

I thought you kids were supposed to know how to properly use the internet and parse knowledge?

Yes. And anyone who ever thought it would be different is retarded. As long as capitalism is the status quo, nothing you like is safe from being destroyed by profiteering and market logic. Games will continue being p2p, while more than half of the content is in paid DLCs. Movies and music will continue to pander to women and numales, politics will be nothing but glorified marketing, the plastic arts willl continue to be a money laundering scam, cities and architecture we be built on the basis of utility and cost effectivemess and not beauty, universities we be filled of useless “studies” degrees to sink people into debt, food will continue to be mass produced, nutrionless plastic and the internet will be an endless stream of advertising occasionally interrupted by actual content.

I rather think its the inverse now. Far too accessible, inviting, and psychologically optimized to keep you there (or keep coming back).

Welcome to the internet of 2020. Pre 2015 they would give you the search results straight, and the websites would give you the recipe straight.

BUT NOW, OMFG... The first 10 results from the search engines are blogs with shit untested recipes that have a 20,000 word lead up before they try to hide the recipe in there. It's garbage.

I only go straight to the recipe websites now, like allrecipe

The internet has become a dystopian normie paradise where we are unsarcastically retarding backwards in progress.

I seem to recall google's algorithm going to shit as early as 2005 and I simply gave up on them as I realized the reality of the machine
