Our local mom/pop donut shop crushes ass, been here literally all my life and holds an unshakable, unbeatable foothold in the town. Every gas station in town pretty much carries the donuts. The only competition is Five Star and Hucks carrying Krispy Kreme, while also carrying the local shop's.

But these anon's talking about the asians is probably right too. My college town has a local donut place, mom/pop/asians. Best in town, undeniable must-try if you're ever there.
I say go for it. The least you can do is learn how local business ownership works, and tread some white collar criminal water.

My mom and step dad ran a doughnut shop called Carolina Cream in Easley SC for years. They were better than Krispy Kreme because they actually proofed their dough. The shop closes when the owner decided to retire. I still have people stop me in public to ask how my mom is doing. She made the best fritters and tractor tires. She is a local celebrity.

Asians make absolute shit doughnuts. And they never change their oil, evident by the fact that their chocolate doughnuts have a blueberry taste from the cross contamination.

I fucking despise them.
