1 can tuna ("natural", not the ones with oil added)
3 tbsp mayonaise
1 tbsp mustard (i prefer strong but up to you)
3-4 pickles, diced (how big is up to how crunchy you want it)
3-4 pickeld onions or 1 spring onion, diced thin
a pinch of salt and WHITE pepper, to taste but always use white pepper for this, goes better with the tuna.

drain the water from the tuna, put it in a large bowl and shred it with a fork. add in every thing else, mix it well, wa-la my dad is from nigeria, the best tuna sandwich you ate and fucking easy and cheap too.
remember practice makes perfect, adapt the recipe to your taste but never use black or pink pepper instead of white pepper

yeah it is a texture thing for me
i mostly got over that but it was a problem when i was a kid. now i eat everything, even pussy, and the only texture that brings back those bad childhood memories is celery in tuna salad. i don't want the crunch. a toasted bread gives you that. i want gooey, consistent insides

Black and white peppercorns are both the fruit of the pepper plant, but they are processed differently. Black peppercorns are picked when almost ripe and sun-dried, turning the outer layer black. ... White pepper tastes hotter than black but is less complex, with fewer flavor notes, maria lorraine explains on Chowhound.

I get a fairly thin slice of bread, put some high quality KING OSCAR YELLOWFIN tuna on there (the best tuna available), then I place some cuts of swiss cheese on top of this. I DO NOT MELT. Then drizzle some oregano on top of the cheese. Another slice of bread? No, this is an open sandwich. The cheese against the mouth is an experience to be enjoyed. The cheese is the other slice of bread. Enjoy.

My family's tuna salad recipe is my absolute favorite and no restaurant has ever satisfied my craving for it.

Finely diced onion,
Finely diced celery,
Canned tunafish,
Mayonaise,
squeeze of lemon,
salt and pepper.

The trick is to let it sit in the fridge for at least a few hours in order for the vegetables to rend their juices and their flavors meld.

Rye is objectively the best bread for tuna salad sandwiches. I like mine with lettuce, tomato and yellow mustard for some crunch and tang.
