Dont be a savage, get a bacon grease keeper, the things cost all of ten bucks and are very efficient. They have a little screen on the top to keep the bits out.

I literally just used it to flavor some delicious roasted potatoes. You can use it for anything you would use another fat for to give it a nice smokey flavor. I've tried it on toast and it works but I prefer old fashioned butter for that application.

reminder that if you heat your bacon fat above the boiling point in the oven for a long enough time you can get rid of all the water content and it will keep indefinitely

>>13935572
filtration is not needed if you handle it properly instead of putting it in the fridge while hot because the debris sinks to the bottom
if you're pouring grease back onto the top of cold grease you aren't handling it properly at all

Why not just freeze it in small amounts so it never goes out?
>cook bacon
>put 1/4 cup - 1 cup in a small container after cooled
>when ready, pop it out the freezer, run a knife around the fat side slide out
>cut off what you need, heat's up and melts in pan in seconds
>add more when you cook more bacon
