Ruins the texture a bit. Tastes better when the long strands get wrapped around the fork for a perfect bite, but you can't do that as well after breaking it. If you like the shorter noodles then nobody should care, but if you're doing it because you can't cook it properly without breaking it then you should figure out how to do it properly instead.

The Spanish seem pretty pissy over paella, but the Italians seem mighty protective of a cuisine that seems to only really consist of pasta and tomato sauce.

but the Americans with call their Italians inspired food authentic Italian
and because people know the American versions more, the Italians are massively misrepresented
