I know I shouldn't but sometimes I just get insane hunger pangs late at night. Decided to grill up a couple of hot trotters. They look ghastly but taste really good for a spur of the moment snack. I get the ballpark short and fat beef franks. You'll see why soon. Stick them in the oven at 300 for about 15-20 minutes.

I took 3 pork+chicken hot dogs and ate them straight out the package last night right before bed

After around 20 minutes they get nice and crispy on the outside, I like how the split open and create a pocket that I can put my bbq sauce in. Sweet baby rays honey flavor. Then they go back in the oven for another 5 to 10 minutes to let the bbq caramelize.

My mom used to buy these giant smoked sausages that came in a package of 20. I would sneak those things between lunch and dinner they were so good straight out of the bag. Never seen the particular brand since I was a kid don't remember what they were called. I miss those things like you wouldn't believe.

While I let the dogs finish up I toast an onion bun, I started doing it because I don't like the ratio of bun to meat in a normal size hotdog. You are always left with a big chunk of nothing but bun and condiments at the end. If you get the short hot dogs they fit perfectly within one half of a hamburger bun. Also you are getting two dogs but only eating one bun so save some calories as well.

Apologies for the condition of my oven, the only lid I have doesn't fit the size of my pan so juices and such are always dripping out and it just got to be too much of a pain to deep clean it all the time. I live alone and no one cares I'm just waiting to die so fuck it. It's just dried on it isn't building up any mold or anything.

Final assembly, deluxe deli kraft american cheese slightly melted on the toasted bun. The heat from the dog will melt it the rest of the way.

You realize you can pan-fry and glaze in BBQ in the time it takes for your oven to come up to temperature, right?

All the chef posting on /ck/ is so exhausting. I get so sick of people showing up and going

>not owning your own wheat
>not making your own bread
>not butchering your own animals

Good on you anon, please make more on topic OP's with me. I post almost every day and my threads die in the streets from funny shaped butter sculptures. I would eat your hot dogs.

Maybe /ck/ will be on topic again some day, not 4chan's public bathroom.

OP, I do a "bbq" hot dog stove top sometimes just like that. Butterflied for maximum pan fried crispiness, glaze on some BBQ sauce at the end. Toasted roll, shredded sharp or sliced sharp cheddar. I might brown some onion, or I might put some raw on top at the end.

Hey, fuck you, that butter sculpture thread was wholesome as fuck. It was OP's first time doing it, too.

Fatass and trashy as fuck but I’d bet my bottom dollar the flavor is probably 10/10. Cheap and inventive and at least it’s not some microwave trash, good job op.

this is dreadful and you live in your own personal hell so i will contribute to your thread soon, may god have mercy on your soul op.

Those look nice and crispy, how did you cook them? I like a little bit of char on my wings, I've seen too many that leave the skin almost floppy and its disgusting. Skin should be crisp enough to crumble when you bite into it.
