I have come to realize that I have never eaten fresh peas. Idk where you can just get the pea part, or will I just have to shuck peas. But I need to know what fresh bowl of slightly steamed and seasoned peas taste like.

What dish do you unhealthily think about?

if you've had frozen peas prepare to be disappointed since they're basically the same

lol yes
and unless you're eating them freshly picked from your own garden, frozen peas will probably taste better because fresh peas decay into starch quickly after they're picked and are almost inedible by the time they get to market

Unironically this

frozen peas are probably more nutritious than anything you can find fresh
since, you know, they're frozen when they're best

Whatever weebs consider 'proper' sushi as apparently it's so much better than anything outside of Japan. I bet it's exactly the fucking same as good sushi in any other country.

My great aunt used to give me fresh peas from her garden when I was a kid. You can eat them straight out of the pod as a snack when they're young and sweet. As they get bigger, the taste bevomes more bean-like. They're easy to grow so you can plant a few just to get the taste.

Blue Java Banana but I imagine they're impossible to get outside of the South Pacific. Apparently they taste like vanilla ice cream.

The thing about sushi in Japan is about quality and availability. For the same price nit's usually better. Cheap conveyor belt sushi is not that great but better than what you get in the west. And good restaurants can have really good quality, especially near the sea. Sure, you can get that in other countries to, but the places are a lot more rare just like every food

The smaller the size of the frozen vegetable, the better it holds up. That's why shit like peas and corn are nearly as good frozen as out of the supermarket, while big chunky shit like broccoli can take on a weird texture due to the way the freezing process messes with cell walls.

Before you bitch, I said supermarket. Obviously frozen corn or peas won't beat an ear you break off the stalk and carry inside for dinner, or peas you shucked that evening, but 9 times out of 10 it'll beat the pants out of anything you get from the grocery store.

it's also probably got something to do with sugar content
