They are outrageously strict about who they allow to run a Chick-Fil-A restaurant. You’re considered an operator and not a franchisee, so you don’t receive any equity from the company and you’re only allowed to run a single store. You have to work at the store full-time, you have to align with their Christian values to be an operator, and they accept less than half a percent of the applications they receive.

Contrast that to McDonalds where most franchises are pajeets who own a half dozen stores, don’t care about quality, and you don’t need to have any personal love for the product to run the store and it’s clear why chick-Fil-a is better.

I worked as a retail/freight driver for several restaurants, CFA included. From what I can tell their secret is consistency and freshness. All chicken patties (patties used loosely, as theyre actually breaded breasts, not ground up and reshaped bits) are hand-battered and fried the day of, usually less than an hour before they are served. Same goes for their nuggets and the lemonade, which actually is fresh squeezed (i know because i had to deliver pallets of lemons every week). On top of that, there's no frills. Management doesn't have to deal with a hundred different menu items, just chicken breasts, breading, and buns. My only criticism is that they're really stingy with the pickles.

Honestly I can't stand their food. Their sandwiches are small as fuck, their fries are good for maybe 3 minutes once out of the fryer, the grilled chicken tasted way over-brined and the fried chicken has so much MSG that it's the only place I regularly get tingling and other high-MSG symptoms from. Not even chinese places give me that anymore, only CFA.

I'm pretty sure that metric fuckton of MSG they use in the breading is why people get so hooked on it anyway. I'll go months without going to CFA, end up going somehow, and suddenly crave the fuck out of it the very next day and the day after that, despite logically recognizing I don't find the food all that special. Textbook glutamate-abusing.

Don't really give a fuck that they donate to anti-faggot shit, but I kinda hate the sensibilities and tastes of upper middle-class right-leaning people and CFA is definitely among that.
