Is it really so hard to make a hot sauce that doesn't include any vomit flavor?

I am not aware of any hotsauce containing butyric acid

This started tasting like vomit to me last year too. I've pretty much dropped all the hot sauces I used to like and just use tabasco now.

How can people stand this stuff? I bought a bottle because it was all they carried at the convenience store by my house and it only lasted a few days. So mild I had to basically soak my food in it.

Tapatio is your best option. Hot sauces use vinegar as a preservative and that's where the anus taste comes from. Tapatio mostly tastes like cumin and other chili-y flavors though so it's my personal favorite.

I don’t mind the vinegar in hot sauces, I just don’t like the taste of fermented peppers in general. At a lot of Thai places they serve a little side dish of vinegar with fresh birds eye and green chilis and garlic in it , so I started using that on a lot of savory fatty dishes at home if I want to add spice.

How the fuck can you two not know of alternatives in the US? Fucking place is a mecca for all things hotsauce related.

Every time I visit I try to make a point of getting some Yucateca in green -- my favourite day-to-day hab-based condiment although the red one is pretty awesome too

This stuff. I hate most hot sauces but this one is great because it’s creamy and goes with asian and Mexican food equally well.
