Personally, I always get it without cheese anyway....cheese on a fish sandwich? Not for me. All you need on a fried fish sandwich is tar tar, and maybe lettuce if you please.

I have no problem with the cheese, I just wish they would center the slice on the sandwich instead of localized to one half of the 'wich

take your papist sandwich back to rome this is a mcchicken board

I really like the wendy's fish sandwich
I do in fact, add cheese to that order.
Fish sandwiches in general are great to order at McDonalds/Wendy's type restaurants because they are ordered enough that they're not freezer burned, but not enough that they have one sitting around to give you. So you always get them fresh from the fryer.

Back when the KFC double down was a thing, I ordered it and instead of two slices of bacon, they took one slice, split it down the middle, laid the half slices across each other and pretended one slice was two.

At least this shit is more honest, McDonald's isn't trying to trick you. I wonder if they would be willing to give you the full slice if you asked... probably not.

Why wouldn't they? They could charge you more for the full slice.

Do you think they have a "half a slice of cheese charge" button? They keep inventory of most of this stuff, assuming someone else orders and "holds" the cheese, they could probably just include the half slice since by net they still end the day with one more half slice than they should, but I suspect the inventory systems may even track the cheese, since I'd assume the cashier must include "no cheese" at the time of order? Wouldn't be difficult to itemize that, guess it just depends how seriously they take it. But I don't see how they can include the other half without just giving it for free, since if you're paying extra cheese you're probably forced to pay for at least a full slice. I could be wrong, maybe they do have a half slice charge.

They'll just charge you for the full slice like they do with anything else you'd add cheese too, they usually don't deduct charges for taking something off

The Arby's fish with cheddar is the pinnacle of fast food fishwich technology. It is delicious. Culver's cod sammie is also very, very good. Filet-o-McDick's is a nasty grease sponge on an admittedly good bun.

It's probably more work to slice the cheese in half than just put it whole.
