There is no such thing as the perfect beer glass, it's dependent on what style of beer you're drinking. Generally, a tulip-style glass will fit almost any style of beer. I've also heard good things about the Spiegelau glass.

No, it isn't. If you disagree, you're claiming that some of the oldest and/or most renowned breweries in the world are wrong as they recommend certain style(s) of glasses for their beer.

That's not to say that drinking your beer out of a Solo cup is going to completely ruin it, it just won't be the optimal experience.
