I have an serious question for al/ck/ posters: Why can alcohol be so addictive to some? For some reason I find it more recreationally pleasurable than even opioids, but I barely drink it ever because I don't like all the impairments it causes. I also have people with alcoholic tendencies on both sides of the family. Is there certain genetic factors to finding alcohol more addictive? I saw one anon reference a study about how alcohol can end up giving off a pleasure reaction similar to cocaine in some cases, but I lost it. Not sure about how much I believe that.

Also what do you think about /r/drunk/ compared to al/ck/?

I'd put money down that you binge every weekend. You're a functioning alcoholic. Its fine. That liter of vodka "every other weekend" will fuck you up though.
